The Edmonton Oilers have made some significant offseason additions already, but top insider Bob Stauffer believes more change could be coming even after the Isaac Howard trade.
The Oilers acquired Howard in a surprising trade that sent promising prospect
Sam O'Reilly to Tampa Bay, showing just how much Edmonton wants to rapidly improve their team. Still, more changes are coming.
Oilers insider Bob Stauffer says GM Stan Bowman isn't done yet
«I don't think the general manager's work is done. And even with the deal that got made last night, consummated last night, he's going to continue to grind away to try to improve the team here.
Let's say by the 7th or the 8th [October] here, we may not see a fully put together lineup in every position until that time.

As training camps wind down to the beginning of the season, multiple players will be placed on waivers and could become available for trade. Not only is it possible the Oilers will keep trying to make additions this summer, but they'll be keeping an eye out in early October.
Specifically, near training camp is where the Oilers may be able to find a goalie for free on waivers. Multiple teams have 3 NHL goalies under contract, and the same surely can't be said about Edmonton. If any goalie hits waivers early next year with some potential the Oilers see, they'll claim him.
After losing the Stanley Cup Final two years in a row, it'd be easy to be feeling defeated. Instead, the Oilers are ruthlessly pursuing ways to improve the team, and won't be taking any days off this summer.
