Top NHL analyst adds smoke to John Gibson and Edmonton Oilers trade talks

The John Gibson to the Edmonton Oilers rumors refuse to die with NHL analyst Mike Kelly throwing a little more fuel on the fire stating that the Oilers and Gibson would be a great fit.
Kelly stated what many people have also mentioned that the Oilers should consider creating their goaltending as the team is in a win now position and that current starter Stuart Skinner may need some assistance or be replaced as the starter for the playoffs.
Gibson to Oilers have been ongoing for months
Top NHL analyst Mike Kelly suggested the Oilers would be a perfect fit for John Gibson.
Oilers and Gibson would be a great fit, IMO. Cup window is now. Skinner can be streaky and while I think they can win with him, he's not the type to steal games. Sometimes that's what's needed. Gibson can and adding him would be a clear upgrade on the current duo. - Mike Kelly

Gibson open to moving on from Anaheim and to the Oilers
It's not a secret that Gibson is looking for a new home and has no desire to remain in Anaheim as he would like a chance to compete with a contender and has a modified no trade clause which includes the Edmonton Oilers as a destination.
Gibson would give the Oilers some cost certainty and veteran goaltending as he holds a cap hit of $6.4 million per season with two years remaining on his contract.
He's had 22 starts this season with a record of 9-9-2, Holding the goals against of 2.69 and a save percentage of .915.

Having a tandem of Gibson and Skinner would give the Oilers a stronger chance of finishing 1st in their division and potentially a long playoff run.
Now the Oilers have less than four weeks to wait and see whether verbeek and Stan Bowman can make a deal.
