Irate Oilers fans have flooded social media platforms as the decisions from Oilers general manager Stan Bowman throughout the year and this trade deadline are showing in Game 3.

The Oilers are trying to get back into this series but several decisions that were made over the course of the year are preventing them from doing so including goaltending, age and speed.

Oilers being beaten by speedy Kings in series

This series is unfolding quite differently for the Oilers compared to previous series over the past three years with the Kings using their speed and youth to burn past Oilers defenders and getting easy goals especially ones like Trevor Moore's that put the Kings up 4-3 near the end of the second.
The team has also been touted as one of the oldest NHL teams in average age which is showing as the Kings continue to gain the zone and put the puck in the net.
It's becoming clear, that aside some injuries to their defence the Oilers biggest issue currently in this series is their goaltending which has fallen apart and is taking the Oilers down with them.
This is where Bowman failed the team the most when he had the chance at the NHL trade deadline to solve their goaltending woes and inconsistencies that have plagued them all year.
After their two games, Head Coach Kris Knoblauch made the decision to swap goaltenders and bring Calvin Pickard into the mix as he was left with no choice since Stuart Skinner did not give Knoblauch confidence.

Oilers to lean on their superstars for offense

The Oilers will need to lean on their superstars once again to get themselves back into the series as Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl will take the team on their backs.
Both players are coming back from injuries and are likely not playing at 100% but they're doing all they can to get the Oilers back to within one game and extend the series.
With the mistake of not signing Philip Broberg and Dylan Holloway and letting vital penalty killers and bottom six players go, this series will reflect Bowman and all the decisions he's made this year which have not panned out as well.
