Oilers insider shares the moment McDavid got injured against Flames

With McDavid out, there's obvious speculation on what the injury is because of the proximity to the postseason. We knew from before that it was just a day-to-day injury that was sustained late in the third period of Saturday's battle of Alberta, but now it seems that fans have been able to narrow it down to the exact play it happened.

Here it seems that Weegar gives McDavid a small shove over, and the injury comes from either the awkward way McDavid falls on the ice or from Andersson falling on McDavid's leg. It takes him a bit to stabilize himself and get up, looking visibly irked.

McDavid stayed on the ice for the remainder of the shift and seemed to be fine, which is great news. The day-to-day tag and him playing afterwards seem to indicate that this injury is more of a precautionary removal, as the Oilers are sitting comfortably in a playoff spot.

It's imperative for the Oilers' playoff success that McDavid is healthy, so the team should be doing anything they can to ensure his health. The Oilers are looking to improve on the results of previous seasons, as anything short of Conference Finals could spell big changes coming for the team.
