According to analyst David Pagnotta, Edmonton is considering keeping Calvin Pickard as security on the active roster, but teams are calling with trade interest.

No easy decisions for GM around Pickard

Pagnotta claims the Pickard-chatter has picked-up; but I don't know that it really went away; and what chatter there has been only serves to convolute the goalie's situation.
To complicate matters further, there is also the question of whether anything should be done at all; you can't have enough depth in the playoffs, in particular in goal, where it's common for goalie starters and back-ups to go down with injury.

To keep or not to keep Pickard

It's clear that Connor Ingram is a capable 1B and back-up option, and keeping him active is paramount to any Oilers' success.
Ingram has eight quality starts over ten games with Edmonton. He also has a .909 SV% and a 2.40 GAA.
Tristan Jarry, on the other hand, has two quality starts in eight games, with an .880 SV% and 3.12 goals GAA, but also has an excellent record of 5-2-1.
You can see how it gets tricky for the Oilers.
There is also the concern that Jarry could reaggravate his injury, in which case you'd need Pickard to be ready.
The real crux here is after the Olympic break, when they'll need to accommodate Adam Henrique's return to the lineup. The roster may not permit three goalies then.
Of course, there have been trade rumours that Philadelphia, Ottawa, and New York Rangers are interested in Pickard as a back-up, as per TSN
There you have it. There is no easy way forward, as any move around Pickard is likely to have an impact.
Then again, it's always been this way.
