Matthew Tkachuk throws wild wedding, but gets devastating news

In the last two years, Florida Panthers' Matthew Tkachuk has placed two Stanley Cup rings on his fingers. Now, he's placed a third ring; except, instead of a championship ring, he's added a wedding ring.
This past weekend, Matthew Tkachuk was married to his longtime-love Ellie Connell, and this only days before he is scheduled to hoist the cup once more today, on his day-with-the-cup.
Matthew Tkachuk gets married, continues to troll Oilers with win song
The good news seems to continue for Matthew Tkachuk, who is shown in a recent video posted on X, bringing down the roof with brother Brady, father Keith and a host of other NHL'ers, who are also shown raising Keith Tkachuk into the air, while his shirtless son Brady dances in the crowd.
Except, the song which the Tkachuk's chose as the theme to all of this hoopla is the Edmonton Oilers' victory song Pink Pony Club, by Chappell Roan, a peculiar choice that can only raise speculation as to its intention, though the possible dig is quite in line with the antagonistic Tkachuk's character, who seems to take any opportunity to take shots at the Oilers and their fans.
The Tkachuks and Pink Pony Club video went viral, by the way, and was an opportunity for fans to congratulate the newlyweds, and also leave comments about the insincerity of the Tkachuk party's playlist. I suppose it was all in good fun, which I'm certain Matthew Tkachuk will appreciate reading. What Matthew won't appreciate, however, is the recent news he received about his health.
Matthew Tkachuk may be out with injury until new year next season
According to recent reports, including one by Nick Kypreos on social media, it's a strong possibility that Matthew Tkachuk's adductor injury may need corrective surgery, as well as for his hernia, which will keep him out of the Panthers' lineup until the NHL's Christmas break.
Last season Matthew Tkachuk missed the last 25 games, due to the original injury he suffered to his adductor, and returned to the lineup on the first game of the playoffs. It's apparent now that he had played through the injury, and as a result will now miss about half of the 2025-26 NHL season.
Whether he fully recovers from the injury remains to be seen, as well as the question of whether he recovers from his wedding hangover, given that Matthew will continue celebrating on his day-with-the-cup.
