In the 2015 NHL draft, it was pretty much unanimously agreed upon that Connor McDavid was by far the best player, followed by a solid second in Jack Eichel. However, there was one former Montreal Canadiens scout who's now being exposed for having the worst take of all - that Dylan Strome was the best player in the draft.

I honestly have Dylan Strome over Connor McDavid. People will laugh now but come back to me in a couple years and see who's laughing.

Using a popular current prompt, fans are bringing up the draft ranking from former Habs scout Grant McCagg, who said that he has Dylan Strome over Connor McDavid, and he'd be laughing over how right he was in years to come.

Well, enough time has passed to see who's laughing now. In 613 games McDavid has 918 points, and Dylan Strome has 268 points in 402 games. Unfortunately for McCagg, right now McDavid is beating Strome as the best player. Really, it's a wonder how McCagg ever landed a job in the NHL.
