According to a recent posting, Evander Kane's agent Dan Milstein has been given permission to facilitate a trade on behalf of his client and the Vancouver Canucks.

Forward veteran on trading block

As Oilers insider Mark Spector pointed out, getting a player agent involved usually means the trade market for a player is nearly non-existent.
Kane is a pending free agent on an expiring contract with a $5.125M cap hit, a number that will no doubt hinder any possible deals for the veteran forward.
Add to that a 16-team no-trade clause, and Mr. Milstein has his work cut out for him.
Any team that acquires the former-Oiler will likely need to renegotiate a new contract, which according to AFP Analytics is projected to be less than $3M with only one year of term.
Though the 34-yeasr old Kane, 34 still have value due to his physical style, scoring touch, and playoff experience, his struggle this season may keep possible suitors away.
Kane has not earned himself a contract extension with the Canucks. Over 51 games, he's recorded 9G and 15A and is a minus-18, quite a bit less than what was hoped for when the Vancouver traded for him with Edmonton this past summer.
Vancouver is in a full-rebuild and sits last in the NHL with just 39-points. There is a good chance they're making a bid for the projected number-1 pick in the next NHL Draft, Gavin McKenna, a possible generational player.
The Canucks have already dealt their top-defenseman Quinn Hughes and forward Kiefer Sherwood. Evander Kane is one of the next group that is being considered, which also includes Elias Pettersson, Conor Garland, and Jake DeBrusk, whose was linked to the Oilers recently.
Trading Kane would free cap space for the rebuilding Canucks and a roster spot for prospects to fill, while allowing them to accumulate future draft picks and prospects.
