With the fall weather just around the corner, general managers are fast at work building rosters to ice when the 2025-26 hockey season gets under way. Whether for the NHL, or the AHL, players must be added to the lineup.
Bakersfield Condors have announced the signing of UFA defenseman Mason Millman to a 1-year, one-way AHL deal for the 2025-26 season.
Though the salary is unknown at this time, Mason Millman's last reported salary was the 3-year contract he signed with the Philadelphia Flyers, worth $2.45M. The AHL minimum salary is $52,725 USD.
The contract fills a depth need for the Condors, more than likely. Mason Millman would require an NHL contract to play for Edmonton, should the Oilers require his services as a call-up.
In 2024-25, Mason Millman split his time between the Providence Bruins of the AHL, and the Maine Mariners of the ECHL, the only two league's in which the 24-year old defenseman has played professionally; he has no NHL experience.
Mason was drafted by the Flyers in 2019, 103rd overall, and signed with Philadelphia in 2020, though he only played in the AHL with the Lehigh Phantoms, and in the ECHL, where he dressed for the Reading Royals, both of whom are Philadelphia affiliate clubs.
In 52 games with the Providence Bruins last season, Mason scored 5 goals and added 9 assists, for 14 points. He also played10 games with ECHL's Maine Mariners, where he recorded 6 points in 10 games played, 2G and 4A.
Mason spent 3 years in the OHL with the Saginaw Spirit. In 130 games played, he posted 69 points (16G, 53A). He also played in 4 Calder Cup playoff games, where he recorded 2 assists.
