For the first time in three years Oilers superstar Connor McDavid has made an equipment change to which he has gone back to his original Supertacks and curve.

This stick and curve was the original one that he used when he began his career which hopes to bring more to his scoring touch as he's only scored fifteen goals this year but has 54 points.

With the Oilers season turned around and McDavid looking to open the new year with more scoring as he has not scored any goals in his last five games. He has however been a contributor to assists as he has had over nine points in five games but all assists.

Oilers Getting Ready For Second Half Of Season

The Oilers themselves are now third in the Pacific division at our five points behind the Golden Knights as the team has gone on a 7-2-1 run in their last 10 games. This has been a stark turn around compared to the start of this season where it was a slow one to say the least.

With second-half of the season set to begin in the next week or so and with the Four Nations cup set in the early part of February, McDavid along with the Oilers will have a lot of hockey to play and likely a great way for him to re set the pace for his goal scoring now that he's gone back to his old equipment.

Mcdavid's game has been evolving in the NHL as he is become a perennial 100 point player and over the last three seasons has been well over 125 points per year. His goal scoring has been up and down as he has become a better player overall.

These are the steps that are necessary for a team to contend for a cup when their leader can do anything on the ice.

McDavid will get to test out his original equipment when the Oilers are at home on Saturday January 3rd when they're set to take on the Anaheim Ducks. Game time will be 9:00 PM eastern.
