The Edmonton Oilers have now played 15 games with a mediocre record of 6-5-4, and Connor McDavid has seen enough of it.

It's not new for this Oilers team to start a season slow out of the gate, but at some point, they have to turn things around. Connor McDavid wants to see that turning point now, nearly 20% of the way through the season already.

Connor McDavid calls out Edmonton Oilers to get to mid-season form

McDavid recognized exactly where they are in the season, and how disappointing the results are to this point. He also addressed their issue of blowing leads, and signalled the time is now to step up.
Fifteen games in, we're in the meat of the season now. Two games here, then we go on a long road trip, a lot of hockey, a lot on the road. It's time we get going.

We've done it six times. We have to talk about it, something we have to figure out. That's an area we have to clean up.

- Connor McDavid
The Oilers will have a 2 game homestand beginning with a a hard test against Colorado before embarking on a 7 game road trip.
This is a critical juncture to dial up their game, or they could find themselves with an extremely poor record coming back home.
No one is worried that the Oilers won't make the playoffs or eventually raise their level of play in the spring - but so far this year there's been some concerning signs with the offence, especially at 5v5.
As the Oilers get healthier in the coming days, hopefully they heed McDavid's message and finally start to reach their mid-season form.
