Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews Tease New Video After Strange Social Media Posts

Both Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews tagged each other in vague challenges on social media this week, also teasing the video.

Today, the trailer for the McDonald's advertisement featuring McDavid and Matthews was released. The full video will be released tomorrow.

The short trailer sees Matthews and McDvaud chirping each other and accepting a challenge to play each other for a Big Mac.

The new ad featuring Canada's biggest star players is a throwback to 1997 when McDonalds featured Wayne Gretzky and Mats Sundin in a similar setting.

Sundin and Gretzky's version had the pair of superstars making hilariously unrealistic shots while competing for food.

Perhaps McDavid and Matthews' version will be a little more grounded as an actual 1 on 1 competition, as it seems from their faceoff. Otherwise, it's a little much to drum up hype for just a commercial.

The video must have been made some time ago, as Leafs centre Auston Matthews just returned from a complicated undisclosed injury.

Still, it's all in good fun, and it's certainly draws interest any time McDavid and Matthews team up for something. Hockey fans will look back on this video just like we look back on the one featuring Gretzky and Sundin - with nostalgia and remembering their greatness.
