Star Oilers forward makes a bet with the media
At times, the Edmonton Oilers players have had a tumultuous relationship with the local media. At the beginning of the season with a record as low as 2-9, the relationship was clearly strained. Now on a four game winning streak, one Oilers star is showing how friendly they can be with the media.
Zach Hyman and Bob Stauffer have made a friendly bet with each other ahead of an upcoming college football playoff game. As fans and alumni of the opposing teams, the loser will have to wear the winning team's hat during a media scrum.
It's great to see instances of where the players and media can get along, as it pretty much always comes at times the team is having success. It's also wild to see how passionate some Canadians can be about US College football.
The Oilers will play their next game after their five day layoff this Wednesday visiting the Carolina Hurricanes.
