After securing four consecutive wins and currently enjoying their bye week, the team has taken notice of three-time Oiler Sam Gagner, who is making an impact on the score sheet despite his limited ice time.
During the "Better Lait Than Never" podcast, the host explained that Gagner is showcasing his worth and talent, even though he isn't receiving much ice time due to various reasons.
Gagner was brought into the Oilers organization for the third time on a professional tryout to assess if the 34-year-old still possesses the skills required. The Oilers' 2007 first-round sixth overall pick has played ten games this season, scoring three goals, providing one assist for four points, and maintaining a +/- of 0.
In the meantime, Warren Foegele, who has played 22 games, has also scored the same number of goals but carries a -11. These statistics do not bode well for Foegele.
If he fails to demonstrate to the Oilers' management and coaching staff that he can contribute more, there might be a change in the roster, and Gagner could see an increase in playing time.
