Connor McDavid to receive national honour at ceremony tonight
At just 26 years old, our superstar Connor McDavid is known to the hockey world as the best player in the game. Now, he's even receiving praise from the outside world. Tonight, McDavid will be inducted into the Canadian Walk of Fame.
Created in 1998, the Canadian Walk of Fame was created in Toronto to honour Canadians who reach the pinnacle of their particular field. McDavid will be the only inductee into the Sports and Athletics category this year, joining Wayne Gretzky, Mark Messier, Steve Nash, and other great Canadian athletes.
With 13 individual NHL trophies under his belt and a career trajectory that would put him amongst the greatest of all time, it's a fitting choice for the Walk of Fame. It's incredible to see McDavid be honoured outside of the sports world, especially in his prime.
Moments ago, Connor shared a picture of himself and his wife arriving to the event.
Be sure to keep an eye out for McDavid's acceptance speech when he's officially inducted!
