Jack Campbell's play takes yet another turn in the AHL
Last night the Bakersfield condors took on the San Jose Barracuda, a matchup where Jack Campbell got the starting nod in net. Assisted by Ben Gleason's two goals in the second period, the Condors would soar past San Jose 4-2 to win the match.
The best story of the night came from Campbell, stopping 31 shots to register a .939 save percentage in net. Even though it will take a long time to rebuild, games like this are amazing for Jack Campbell's confidence on his journey back to the NHL. Jack Campbell logged an .873 in the NHL before getting sent down, and after last night has an .893 on the condors. Campbell still has 4 more years on his $5M cap hit, so all Edmonton fans are praying that he can find his game again. Campbell definitely hasn't been overly impressive, but he is making strides in the right direction for his future in the NHL.
