Since returning from his grisly wrist injury early in the season, Oilers forward Evander Kane has enjoyed playing time. An upper-body injury Kane sustained in the last few games will keep him out for a couple of weeks, according to Frank Seravalli.
The 31-year-old left winger has played 24 games, has scored nine goals with 10 assists for 19 points and holds a - 1 in his plus-minus. He is still trying to find the scoring touch that he had earlier this season however this has eluded him for some time.
According to Seravalli, the injury to Kane has not changed the Oilers' plans for the trade deadline. Additionally, I believe the Oilers should be looking for a defenseman rather than another forward.
There are nine days left before the trade deadline, and rumours have been circulating about names such as Patrick Kane and Erik Karlsson. It's safe to say that the Oilers do need an upgrade before the clock strikes three on March 3rd.
