The Edmonton Oilers have announced that Carl Berglund, their 2022 third-round draft pick, has signed a two-year entry-level contract with the team. The contract is set to begin in the 2023-24 season, giving Berglund time to continue developing his skills before officially joining the Oilers.

Berglund, a 6-foot-3, 205-pound defenseman, has been playing with Skelleftea AIK in the Swedish Hockey League this season. In 36 games with the team, he recorded 4 goals and 5 assists.

The 19-year-old Berglund has been recognized for his strong skating ability and physical play on the ice. He was also a member of Sweden's national under-18 team, where he served as an alternate captain and contributed 2 goals and 2 assists in 7 games during the 2022 IIHF World U18 Championships.
Berglund's signing adds to the Oilers' already promising young talent pool and provides further hope for the team's future success.
