To the casual hockey fan some of them seemed to enjoy it while the more hard-core audience were not the biggest fans. The whole All-Star weekend has been criticized for being dull, boring and other's just call it a gimmick and an NHL cash grab.
So instead of changing the game and trying to make improvements the NHL is hoping to host in bigger markets. In fact according to David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period the NHL is already looking into the 2025 NHL All-Star Game, and it's believed to be hosted in Seattle, Detroit, or Edmonton with Edmonton being the front runners.
This would be kinda cool regardless how you feel about the weekend, having two Canadian markets host the game in a row, the attendance wouldn't be any worse than Florida.
