Edmonton and His Brother Both Eliminated

Ryan and Michael McLeod are brothers who both played junior hockey with the Mississauga Steelheads. Ryan joined Michael in Mississauga a year after his arrival. It's intriguing to consider that the brothers are now in opposing conferences, with Ryan playing for the Edmonton Oilers in the West and Michael for the New Jersey Devils in the East. Both teams are in the midst of a push for the Stanley Cup, and there's a chance they could face each other in the finals.

Currently, the Edmonton Oilers are battling the Vegas Golden Knights in the Western Conference, with the series tied so far. However, before we even entertain that possibility, Michael's team will have to up their game and beat the Carolina Hurricanes, who are leading the series 2-1.

It's worth noting that both brothers have been gaining valuable playoff experience recently, and Michael will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season.

The Mcleod brothers aren't the only pair of siblings to play together in the NHL:

Since 1917, 47 pairs of brothers have played together on the same team; among them, ten have won the Stanley Cup together. Brothers have also squared off against each other five times in the Stanley Cup finals, most recently in 2003. Twenty-six sons have followed in their fathers' footsteps and played for his team. Only once has a father played with his sons, when Gordie Howe played with Mark and Marty for one season with the Hartford Whalers.

The Chicago Blackhawks have seen the most familial connections with 31: twenty sets of brothers, five father-son combinations, three uncle-nephew combinations, and three sets of cousins.

It isn't out of the question for something like this to happen, as it is often that the NHL is a family sport and nepotism is a big thing as well, but what family wouldn't love to play together, who remembers Gordie Howe playing with Mark and Marty played together in the WHA in Hartford?

Sadly, the McLeod's were both eliminated...
