NHL issues statement on Dakota Joshua following oustanding game one
Vancouver Canucks forward Dakota Joshua has enjoyed a career-year during the regular season and it appears he's ready to take his game to the next level for the playoffs, playing a big role in last night's win.
Joshua scored a pair of goals including the game-winner with less than 11 minutes remaining in the third period and an empty netter. He also added an assist to finish his second-ever Stanley Cup Playoff game with three points.Following the game, Sportsnet Stats on X made a statement on Dakota Joshua, saying that he's tied Cliff Ronning and Brian Bradley for second-most points in a Canucks playoff debut with three. Geoff Courtnell currently holds the record with four points against the Los Angeles Kings in April 1991.
"Most points in #Canucks playoff debut
Geoff Courtnall April 4, 1991 vs Kings 4
Dakota Joshua Sunday vs Predators 3
Cliff Ronning April 4, 1991 vs Kings 3
Brian Bradley April 5, 1989 vs Flames 3"

Joshua, a native of Dearborn, Michigan, had a strong regular season, but he unfortunately missed multiple weeks with a hand injury. In 63 games, Joshua had 32 points (18 goals, 14 assists), 60 penalty minutes and was a plus-19.
With the 27-year-old Joshua out of contract at the end of the season, it'll be interesting to see if he re-signs with the Canucks or hits the open market on Canada Day. If the Canucks do decide to re-sign Dakota Joshua, how many years should be for - 1/2, 3/4 or 5? Let us know what you think in the poll below!
