Maxim Lapierre reflects on his time in Vancouver: The time of his life

Former Vancouver Canucks forward Maxim Lapierre brought plenty of energy to the team in 2011 after being traded to them by the Anaheim Ducks on deadline day.

On Friday, Lapierre was a guest on Sekeres and Price and was asked about his trade to Vancouver, as well as the team's run to the 2011 Stanley Cup Final, where they faced the Boston Bruins.

Lapierre told Sekeres and Price that his trade to Vancouver and the run to the Stanley Cup Final was the time of his life.




There's no doubt Lapierre was a fan favourite during the 2011 Stanley Cup Playoff run and won over the hearts of Canucks fans very quickly. He brought energy, grit and physicality that is needed to play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but it did get him into trouble at times as during that run he led the NHL in penalty minutes.

Lapierre would go on to spend the following two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks, before leaving the team in free agency in 2013, signing with the St. Louis Blues. In 149 games for the Canucks, Lapierre had 30 points (14 goals, 16 assists), 183 penalty minutes and was a minus-ten.
