Quinn Hughes is no stranger to a wide variety of milestones and records. He has been rapidly climbing the Canucks' franchise ranks in points by a defenseman since he debuted in the NHL back in 2018-19. While he has seen limited playoff action during his young career thus far, he boasts an even 18 points in 18 postseason games to date.

Hughes, who led all NHL defenders with 92 points during the regular season, is a mere two points away from becoming just the fourth defenseman in league history to record 20 points in his first 20 playoff games — currently, Adam Fox (22), Al MacInnis (21), and Gary Suter (20) are the only defensemen to achieve this mark.

Hughes enters the playoffs as the Norris Trophy favourite for top defenseman in the NHL. He recorded two assists in Vancouver's 4-2 Game 1 win against Nashville on Monday, playing over 22 minutes.

He will look to build upon an encouraging opening game as the Canucks take the ice for Game 2 on Tuesday without starting goaltender Thatcher Demko, who's status for the remainder of the series is up in the air.
