The Oilers were playing a tight game against the Panthers in game 3, trading chances until it all fell apart when Stuart Skinner misplayed a puck behind the net.

Skinner went back to retrieve a puck, but let it get by him Eetu Luostarinen, who centered it to Vladimir Tarasenko to score the go-ahead second goal.

As soon as the Oilers gave up the second goal, they came out of their structure to cheat towards offence. They got some chances but not much quality looks on Sergei Bobrovsky, but they broke down defensively to give the Panthers easy looks for the third and fourth goal. Fans in Rogers Place are shocked.

Panthers completely shut down Oilers offence so far in Stanley Cup Final

The Panthers have put on a defensive clinic in shutting down the Oilers league-best offence. Being the Stanley Cup Final they've taken advantage of the lack of penalty calls by getting close into the Oilers and drawing sticks away from passing lanes. If the Oilers ever do get a quality chance, they have to beat one of the best goalies in hockey in Sergei Bobrovsky.

Now down three goals heading into the third period and being completely shut down offensively this series, the Oilers feel completely down and out. They could come back to win this game, but it feels far more likely that the Panthers will close out a dominant road win.

Game 4 in Edmonton now looks to be an absolute must win, or Florida will lift the Cup on the road. It's a complete shock of how easily the Panthers have supposedly handled the Oilers, but a sweep would be completely unacceptable.
