Like most professional athletes, hockey players aren't known to be the brightest group of individuals. Yesterday, Blackhawks phenom Connor Bedard had a bit of a hockey guy moment, when a reporter asked him a question and Bedard had no idea what the word trepidation' meant.

Upon returning from injury, a reporter asked Bedard if he had any trepidation about getting back on the ice and taking contact. Immediately Bedard responded that he didn't know what that meant, and the room erupted in laughter.

We all have to give Bedard the benefit of the doubt however. Being just 18 years old and making the NHL barely after finishing high school, education is rightfully on the backburner for Bedard and plenty of other hockey phenoms growing up. It's not like trepidation is a very common word, either.

In all, it just turned out to be a hilarious moment for the rookie phenom, one that he'll look back on and laugh about in the near future. He's also definitely looked up the meaning of trepidation now - to be nervous or fearful.
