A former 1st round pick has been placed on waivers, it seems as though his NHL dream could be all but over.

Why the waiver wire is usually quiet during the playoffs and heading into the off-season, there are times when a notable name crosses it. One of those days is today.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed former first round pick Brendan Guance on waivers. Take a look;

Guance, 30, was drafted 26th overall in the 2012 NHL entry draft by the Vancouver Canucks but unfortunately his career hasn't panned out the way that people thought it would.

Guance, has played just 177 NHL games scoring 13 goals And adding 15 assists for a total of 28 points. He did suit up for 23 NHL games this season with the blue jackets scoring two goals and two assists total of four points.

Should Guance Clear waivers he will be assigned to the Columbus blue jackets AHL affiliate, The Cleveland Monsters.

Do you think this is all that has left in the NHL? It seems like his NHL dream is slipping away.
