Moments ago, the Toronto Maple Leafs announced that the team has extended 27 year old rookie Bobby McMann to a two year contract for $1.35M.

McMann went undrafted and signed with the Leafs organization after playing with Colgate University in the ECAC. Over the years, he's battled his way through the Leafs depth chart and this year has played 40 games, scoring 10 goals and 18 points.

It's a quality reward for a depth player who has performed at every turn in his career, and earned his way to the NHL at 27 years old. It's an incredible story for McMann, and a solid bet by the Maple Leafs on a player who has everything to prove.
