Wayne Gretzky Shares A Special Message He Gave To Connor McDavid
The Edmonton Oilers have begun their hopeful run to the Stanley Cup Monday night vs the Los Angeles Kings.
But things haven't always looked positive in Edmonton. Back in the 2020 playoffs the Edmonton Oilers were swept in the first round by the Winnipeg Jets, and Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were held scoreless in that series with some calling them overrated.
However, when much of the hockey world was criticizing the Oilers, the greatest Oiler of all time Wayne Gretzky had some special words of encouragement for McDavid telling him:
"When you lift that Cup it's pretty special, and you will lift that Cup one day because you're that good."

Connor has continued to get better since that series have this season scoring 64 goals, and 89 assists. I too think McDavid will win the Stanley Cup but not just one, he's going to have a few before he retires I have no doubt.
