The Toronto Maple Leafs are in huge trouble, what is Brad Treliving Doing?
The Toronto Maple Leafs are in a bad way and the regular season hasn't even started. In the Brad Treliving era of the Toronto Maple Leafs, things aren't looking too good.
As the regular season begins tomorrow, the team is $11.04 million over its salary cap.
The #LeafsForever opening roster is $11.404M over cap with 21 active players (13F/6D/2G)
LTIR: Muzzin, Murray, Timmins
This roster is $8,551 from optimized LTIR capture w/ those on LTIR.
Includes Cowan ($936K). Wednesday can demote him & replace
Due to these issues, the team has vociferously tried to cut the salary cap as much as possible.
Although the team traded
Sam Lafferty to Vancouver and waived six players yesterday, it remains over the cap. By releasing $1.15 million from his cap, Lafferty provided a great deal of cap flexibility.
Muzzin, Murray, and Timmins are still on LTIR, but the team is still in trouble.
Time to get cutting, Brad!
