In recent weeks, the Oilers' lineup has faced some adversity because they have major cap problems and a lack of flexibility. With the return of Oilers forward Kailer Yamamoto and the lack of trading partners for Jesse Pujujarvi, the team has had to do their musical chairs of players to fit their roster in.

The Oilers have recalled Devon Shore from the Bakersfield Condors once again after sending him back down only a few days ago. Shore has not played a single game in the NHL in 2023.
This is due to Klim Kostin missing a game due to an illness and will be an emergency call situation in which his cap hit will not be counted until he is part of the roster.
Shore was drafted in the 2012 entry draft by the Dallas Stars, in the second round 61st overall. This season he has had the lowest ice time out of all Oilers forwards.
It remains to be seen if he will ever see the ice again with the Oilers and possibly be used as a trade piece going forward.
The Oilers will be on the road playing against the Colorado Avalanche and game time will be at 3:00 PM eastern.
