Pending Oilers free agent crowned the new King.
With the off-season in full swing, and players settling into their summer, whether it's staying at the gym or heading out to the golf course, Many players would like to relax and enjoy themselves before they have to get back to the gruelling schedule that will begin in September.
One player in particular, Evan Bouchard the defenseman that many Oilers fans would like to see retained and most likely will in a new contract had a photo taken of him on a golf course and being crowned by pending free agent Warren Foegele as the new Deer King.
This picture overshadows where former Oilers forward Jesse Pujujarvi was deemed the bison king in 2021. Bully RV was doing the same pose with the thumbs up near a bison which led to a wave of tweets
On a more serious note, however, general manager Ken Holland must find a way to retain Bouchard as the Oilers will need his services for a long period which will complement their newly acquired defenseman at the trade deadline Mattias Ekholm.
Both Ekholm and Bouchard were instrumental during the playoffs and were dominant at times. Both players also helped cement the Oilers' playoff spot and almost took the crown for the Pacific division.
The fund will begin on July 1st when all unrestricted and restricted free agents will come ahead and see who will remain and who will go.
