Oilers Media Attacks McDavid After Last Night's Loss
The Edmonton Oilers are currently in a fight for the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Their hopes of making the playoffs were dashed a little more with the 5-2 against Seattle Kraken last evening.
One constant knock on this edition of the Oilers has been their porous defensive play. After last night's contest, the leadership questions started to surface.Journalist Jim Matheson, spoke about the fact if mark messier was in the dressing room would he tolerate this type of issue that's been plaguing the Oilers in their dressing room for some time now? Certainly, this comment would bring the ire of some Oilers fans and others would probably agree with his statement.
Even Mark Spector weighed into his views about the Oilers' leadership and how there is a form of complacency.
With the March 3rd trade deadline looming, the Oilers have a lengthy list of needs that need to be resolved. However, I highly doubt this will all be done during this trade deadline and more during the offseason.
