During the previous season, there was an incident involving Jim Matheson and Leon Draisaitl, where Matheson asked inappropriate questions and referred to Draisaitl as "pissy", causing offense. Unfortunately, it seems that disrespectful journalism has become the norm, as players often disregard reporters' requests and answer as they, please.
Regrettably, we have another instance of this behavior, but this time the offender is different. The Edmonton Oilers suffered a disappointing 5-4 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, despite Leon Draisaitl's impressive 4-goal performance.
In a potentially condescending manner, a reporter asked Draisaitl if he found any joy in scoring 4 goals, to which he responded with a clear "No". Obviously, personal achievements do not outweigh the importance of team success.
It is concerning that the reporter in question, Spector, needed to be reminded of this fact. Perhaps he did not consider that Edmonton needs every victory they can get.
