Numerous fights have broken out in the National Hockey League this season, especially over the last year, but what causes them? Is it the quantity of booze some fans consume while cheering for their team, or are there some fan bases who enjoy getting into physical altercations with one another?
The Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston Bruins, Winnipeg Jets, Colorado Avalanche, and now the Tampa Bay Lightning have all had some brutal fan fights occur this season alone, which resulted in many arrests and charges laid just over two months into the season. So it's clear that these fights aren't between specific fan bases, but may point fingers towards certain ''hot heads'' or the amount of alcohol consumed by some.
The altercation occurred during a tense Battle of Florida match between the Panthers and Lightning, but it was between two Lightning supporters oddly enough, and it began when one of them proceeded to disagree with the other over where they should sit to watch the game.
