McDavid's Lengthy 7-Minute Interview After Game 1 Loss
The Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings are familiar combatants as last year the series was intense and each team fought to the end, until Connor McDavid and the Oilers extinguished the Kings playoff hopes.
This series is no different, as it's high event hockey and the Kings and Oilers have both made great additions during the deadline to make their teams post-season worthy.
It wasn't until the 3rd period and overtime, that the team gave up 3 goals and the 2-goal lead to lose 4-3 in overtime.
McDavid:
"We expect there will be ups & downs."
This was a game where the downs were mostly penalties and the failure to defend against the 6 on 4, where the Kings crashed the net. However much like Skinner, McDavid and the rest of the team have to learn from their mistakes and find a way to win despite the heavy penalties.
McDavid, Draisaitl and the Oilers have come back before to beat the Kings and this series will be no different.
