Today, the Spittin' Chiclets Podcast ignited a debate by making allegations against Columbus Blue Jackets' coach Mike Babcock. Paul Bissonnette asserted that Babcock had requested players to share family photos from their phones to foster team bonding.
In response to these allegations, both the Columbus Blue Jackets and the NHL Players' Association (NHLPA) launched investigations. Subsequently, Babcock and Blue Jackets captain Boone Jenner issued statements addressing the situation.
Jenner supported Babcock's account, stating, "During my conversation with Babs, he inquired about my family, upcoming wedding, and hockey-related topics. He also asked if I had family photos, and I gladly shared some." Jenner viewed it as a positive step in developing team relationships and believed the situation was blown out of proportion.
Despite these explanations, Bissonnette remains skeptical, urging Babcock to reconsider his approach. He claimed that many players had confirmed similar incidents, keeping the discussion alive within the hockey community.
