Puljujarvi has a cap hit of $3,000,000 annually that expires next season, Ken Holland has reportedly been shopping him around since last year, but it seems as if no teams have budged. Now, with the NHL trade deadline quickly approaching Elliotte Friedman reveals that the Edmonton Oilers may not even be trading Puljujarvi, and that the Oilers may keep him.
Friedman believes the Oilers want to maintain depth in case of an injury, which is Ken Holland's current thinking. Holland, who is the NHL's highest paid general manager, is afraid an injury would break out if he made a trade, where several other general managers have been making important moves, where Holland has been napping.
If Holland does not make a move while all these other contenders are improving left and right, playoffs may be very short-lived for Edmonton.
