It's An Edmonton Oilers Birthday Today and Fans Are Feeling OLD!
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been in the NHL for a while now, he made it to the milestone of 800 NHL games played last night. What an achievement for someone who is still in the prime of his career.
What is even more disturbing, is that while he was drafted in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, 1st overall, and while he's put up a quiet 100-point season, he's making people feel old everywhere.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins turned 30 today on April 12th, Happy Birthday Ryan! Which sent Jack Michaels into a spiral of existential terror, as he put this tweet out into the world.
Poor Jack.
Jack Michaels has been the Edmonton Oilers play-by-play announcer since 2010 and since 2021 has filled the lead role of announcing the Oilers on Sportsnet.
Since Ryan's introduction into the NHL in 2011-2012, he's played 800 games, and notched 233 goals and 398 assists for 631 points.
