The rumor scene has been running rapidly fast as of late on many trade discussions, one trade that was believed to be in the works was reported by NHL Trade Rumors that the Edmonton Oilers General Manager Ken Holland was interested in acquiring the services of San Jose Sharks defenceman Erik Karlsson.
Karlsson has rejuvenated his career this season and has looked very good in the Sharks lineup. This had many speculate that with the Oilers looking to deal forward Jesse Puljujärvi and Sharks looking to deal Karlsson, maybe the Sharks and Oilers would make a deal as many sources have linked the two together.
However, this deal looks like it won't be happening. According to Frank Seravalli of Daily Faceoff, the Edmonton Oilers aren't interested in Erik Karlsson and wouldn't ever consider a Karlsson (50% salary retained) for Jesse Puljujarvi in a trade ending that rumor.
