During Monday's press conference, Dubas stated that he would take a step back from the game and only GM in Toronto if he decided to stay.
I feel that will not happen as I believe there will be another team that will be knocking on his door with an offer that he can't refuse. One of the teams that could be looking at him would be the Edmonton Oilers.
Current general manager Ken Holland has stated that he is not committed to extending past his current contract which expires at the end of next season.
Holland has stated that he has unfinished business with this team and would like another go around to try to win with this core. Now that Dubas is available it will be very interesting to see if the Oilers will even look at the idea of going after Dubas even with Holland as GM.
My gut feeling tells me the Oilers will stay with Holland and let him fulfill his deal, there is a possibility that Dubas will land in Calgary as rumours have been floating around the Internet and the NHL that that could be a landing spot for him.
