Over the past several months, the NHL has received numerous requests from fan bases and franchises themselves for a precise description of what defines a "distinct kicking action." Blake Coleman of the Calgary Flames had his goal disallowed just 8 months prior for "distinct kicking motion," as shown in the video below:
The whole NHL was angered by the decision in issue above since it surrounded a playoff goal. Something similar happened last night. Ironically, it once again was in the favour of the Calgary Flames. Since this is the second controversial incident with the Flames making a kicking motion, many have accused the NHL of being "rigged."
