The Toronto Maple Leafs enjoyed a successful run with Jack Campbell during his short stay. After Kyle Dubas refused to extend the popular goaltender, he explored his options in free agency, signing with the Edmonton Oilers for 5 years and $25 million.
He didn't achieve the results he was expecting in his first season with the Oilers, as his GAA dropped to just under 4.00, his SV% fell below .900, and he failed to record a shutout.
Jack Campbell was widely expected to take the starting role, but Stuart Skinner took over quickly. Although his record was 21-9-4, he ended the season with a 3.41 GAA.
Casey DeSmith, currently with the Montreal Canadiens, is being rumored as a potential replacement for him.
