Only $3 million of the salary limit is left available for the Ottawa Senators to use, and they still need to determine what to do with Alex DeBrincat. This season, the Ottawa Senators are not particularly strong, and things have seemed to have gotten much worse due to recent reports. Additionally to their cap struggles, they already lack goaltendersand will nowbe down to two AHL goalies and due to their only NHL goaltender available, Cam Talbot, being placed on the injury reserve list.

According to the Senators GM, goaltender Anton Forsberg has been given a "likely" recovery time of one year due to MCL sprains in both knees.

Pierre Dorion announces that Forsberg has ligament tears in both knees, indefinite absence but «probably season over». Sanderson upper body, out 10 days to two weeks.

One sprain is challenging, but suffering two on the same play is horrible and incredibly difficult. He was taken out of last night's game against the Edmonton Oilers on a stretcher. Forsberg has a decent 3.26 GAA and.902 SV% this season. He still has three years left on his $2,750,000 deal, but he may be bought out this year before the March 3rd trade deadline to free up room on the Senators' long-term injured reserve cap list, because they already have several players using up LTIR.

Prayers for a speedy recovery!
