The most valuable asset, or should we say asset(s), is now in the hands of the Chicago Blackhawks. Both Chicago Blackhawks forwards Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane are in the last year of their contracts. Patrick Kane has certainly made things apparent, and it appears as though he'll be traded in the coming days. Jonathan Toews hasn't stated much on the trade discussions.
It will be strange for Chicago Blackhawks fans to see Patrick Kane wear a different jersey for the first time in sixteen years, but what new jersey will he be proudly wearing? Since the New York Rangers acquired Vladimir Tarasenko, we can cross them off the list. The Rangers were supposedly Kane's top choice, and in his interview, Kane expressed his disappointment by saying the following:
