BREAKING: Major Announcements Will Be Hitting The Oilers This Week

The Edmonton Oilers are reportedly close to reaching deals with their two restricted free agents, Evan Bouchard and Ryan McLeod.

Kurt Leavins confirmed the progress, noting that both players are going to sign and the announcement will be made shortly.

"I wrote last week in this space that the Oilers were close to deals with RFA's Evan Bouchard and Ryan McLeod (the latter's arbitration case is scheduled to be heard August 4th). I stand by that, as I continue to hear that 'both will get done.' But I do think the goalposts may have moved slightly in terms of what it may take." Leavins said.

Bouchard, set for arbitration, had a solid season with the Oilers, recording over 40 points for the second consecutive year. Bouchard missed only one game in two seasons. In 82 games, he recorded 40 points and had an impressive 17 points in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, leading all defensemen.
