When you look at nearly every Canadian team, aside from the Calgary Flames, you notice they are all struggling with one thing, and that's defense. The Edmonton Oilers have two of the best goal scorers in the entire NHL and still fail to lose games by a score of 6-5, the Toronto Maple Leafs have 30+ million in forwards between their big four and still manage to lose games due to their back-end not being able to contribute by doing their part defensively.

And now one Canadian teams defensemen issues have now been confirmed even worse..
Jake Muzzin of the Toronto Maple Leafs, the heart and soul of their blueline that offers a veteran prescence to the youth of the Leafs, and also serves as one of their most physical and dynamic defensemen. Muzzin has only played four games for the Leafs this year, that being their first four and since, the worst has been confirm..
Kyle Dubas, the Leafs general manager spoke out on Muzzin's injury as this is his third serious injury in three years.
He's a father of two young children, a husband. We have to make sure we're doing right by him. As important as he is as a player, his health is paramount.

TSN Overdrives Chris Johnson revealed some info, and Leafs fans are not liking it but it may be for the best for Muzzin and his family. Muzzin may never return to the game again, and if so it'll a surprise.
My understanding is he has a follow-up appointment in California with the doctors he saw there," he said. "It is at some point early next week, and then there will be a clear direction. It would be a surprise if he was able to come back and make an attempt at returning. He has stayed very close with the team and has been with them on the road, but I don't believe it will be in the cards that he will be back healthy and playing again.
