600 Game NHL Veteran and Former Edmonton Oiler Released From PTO
The Boston Bruins have just terminated the PTO of a former Edmonton Oiler with 650 NHL games.
As a result of Don Sweeney and the Boston Bruins ending Alex Chiasson's professional try-out, his NHL career may be in jeopardy.
Montgomery: The Bruins have released Alex Chiasson from his PTO.
In the summer, Chiasson was granted a PTO by the Boston Bruins and was unable to impress Jim Montgomery and the team's front office. A new home will need to be found for him after he is released from the Bruins' training camp roster.
In 2018-2019, he had 22 goals while with the Edmonton Oilers from 2018-2021. In 2022-2023, he put up 6 goals and 9 points with the Detroit Red Wings organization.
He is 33 years old, and his time in the NHL is dwindling. However, if another NHL team offers him a chance, he will definitely take it.
