Cecily Rose, a 10-year old cancer battler and die-hard Edmonton Oilers fan, traveled to LA last week to watch her team in playoffs round 1. While she made good memories, the trip was marred by a horrific incident of harassment and assault by LA Kings fans.

Edmonton Oilers player Evander Kane took to social media to bring awareness to the situation, stating that he was disgusted and appalled by the behavior of the fans. Cecily was reportedly harassed and spit on by fans both in the stands and in a women's restroom, an experience no one should have to endure, let alone a young cancer patient.

Kane proceeded to share a response he got for bringing awareness to the situation, and it is truly disgusting.

The incident serves as a sobering reminder that respect and civility should always prevail, regardless of team loyalties or sporting events.
