Right off the bat in today's game between the Edmonton Oilers and Montreal Canadiens set a physical tone for their game. Both team's tough guys in Sam Carrick and Michael Pezzetta met at center ice to drop the gloves.

Sam Carrick has now had two fights as an Oiler, and in both he's shown that he'll do anything it takes to stick in the league. Carrick took some hard blows in this fight, but delivered some absolute bombs of right hooks and uppercuts which eventually sent Pezzetta falling down to the ice.

If the Oilers are making it a priority to add some toughness in their bottom six for the playoffs, Sam Carrick is proving why he should be in the lineup. Fights like these will bring more intensity to the Oilers, and give them something to rally around in the bottom six for the team. So far, Carrick's looking great in an Oilers jersey.
