The Canucks have missed the presence of star netminder Thatcher Demko since he went down with an injury in early March during a game (which the Canucks would win 5-0) against the Winnipeg Jets. Meanwhile, Casey DeSmith and rookie Arturs Silovs have filled the void left by the San Diego, California native.

However, it appears as though Demko is set to return just days before the beginning of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Rick Tocchet has confirmed that the goaltender will start Tuesday night against the Calgary Flames.

The Canucks sit at an impressive 49-22-9 through 80 games and possess a five-point lead over the second-place Edmonton Oilers in the Pacific Division, though Edmonton still has three games remaining.

Demko, 28, has a solid 34-13-2 record in 49 games, a cool 2.47 GAA, and a .917 save percentage. Despite the extended absence, he ranks tied for second in the league with five shutouts.
